Library Entry Project - Out to Bid / by Resa Kemper

Tevis Architects has been working on a series of projects for the  Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library.  The first construction project is now out for bids, due Wednesday October 12, 2016.  This project is a remodel of the existing site at the front entry of the building.  RFP and drawings are currently located on the library's website here.  Below is a rendering of this fun project, which plays off of the radius from the Michael Graves designed rotunda and removes curbs to simplify ease of access for all people.  Planters have been incorporated to soften up the entry, provide a vehicular barrier to protect pedestrians, and also allow for more seating options.
